Insurance

MTA is not in-network with any insurance companies but can work with HSA/FSA accounts and can provide superbills for insurance reimbursement.

What is out-of-network coverage?

Many insurance plans have coverage for services outside of contracted clinicians. There is often a separate deductible that must be met for OON coverage, then insurance pays a set percentage. Contact your insurance provider to find out about your OON coverage.

What is a superbill and how does it work?

A superbill is a receipt of service that clients can submit to their insurance provider in order to receive reimbursement. The reimbursement is often through the client’s out-of-network coverage.

Why doesn’t MTA work with insurance?

While insurance makes therapy far more affordable, it greatly impacts the range of work a clinician can provide and a client can receive. Insurance can govern length of service, dictate specific therapeutic intervention, and requires a formal diagnosis. These requirements do not always align with MTA goals of ethical, informed care.

Reduced Fee

MTA knows how inaccessible therapy can be and our goal is to be able to provide therapy to folks regardless of means. Therefore, MTA offers a limited amount of reduced rate services for folks in marginalized communities who cannot comfortably afford to pay the full fee for services.
Please contact us to find out if we have any reduced rate spots available.
