What to Expect
Sessions with me tend to have a bit of laughter, a few cuss words, an occasional cathartic ugly cry, and a lot of really vulnerable work. As a licensed therapist, I have an extensive toolkit for skills and skill-based interventions that support you through behavioral changes, reducing anxiety, reworking relationships, and overcoming disordered behaviors. My true passion and skill lies in the deeper work – helping you dig up the roots of your traumas, coping mechanisms, and attachments so that you can create greater meaning in your life while embracing more connection, curiosity, and clarity. It’s not easy, but you can absolutely do it and I can help. I use a combination of trauma therapies, systems work, and somatic practices aligned with your unique needs to provide a profoundly healing experience.
My Approach
My worldview and theoretical approach is rooted in an anti-oppressive, systemic framework that is trauma informed, collaborative, and holistic. I am a systemic therapist, which means I aim to acknowledge how every internal and external system impacts your experiences and the pain you come into session with. I believe that each person that enters my therapy space already has everything they need to heal. It is then my job to create space for them to establish a greater connection with their internal world in order for lasting change to occur. I do this through an integration of models including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Health At Every Size & Fat Liberation, and Anti-Oppression Frameworks.
Additionally, I believe our mental health is intimately connected with our bodies so I incorporate a variety of somatic techniques and breath-work to further the change process when appropriate.
Who I Work With
Oftentimes, my clients are folks who have done therapy before and have been unable to make lasting change. Maybe your previous ways of coping are no longer working, maybe what you thought had been tended to is creeping back up, or maybe you’ve never done this before and find yourself longing for a more fulfilled life. Regardless of what brings you here, I am eager to sit with you in the discomfort of change so that you can maintain connection with your confident, patient, and present self.

Get to Know Me
I believe the healing in you recognizes the healing in me so I show up authentically in the therapy space- shoes off, feet in chair, and fidget toys included. I regularly attend trainings, pursue the latest knowledge, and advocate for equality and justice in order to provide the highest level of care to all clients. I identify as a white, queer woman, ex-vangelical and originally hail from Nashville. I currently live in Seattle with my wife and our two dogs- work with me long enough and you will inevitably meet my codependent, furry coworkers. I enjoy spending my free time in so many ways, but this season of life I am finding myself checking out all the local coffee shops, cheering for Seattle Reign & the USWNT, and reading everything from historical fiction to self-help books. I share these details because it is pivotal to our work for you to feel comfortable with me (research proves it). If I sound like your kind of person, or if you have questions about us being a good fit please reach out. I would be honored to walk alongside you through your healing.
